Nkumba select beat Makerere University Business School (MUBS) 5-4 in national beach soccer league game played over the weekend at Lido beach in Entebbe.
In a testimonial game played for referee Ali Mwebe, who was marking his last game as beach soccer referee, MUBS' Maxwell Okello scored an unfortunate own goal early in first half.
Roch Somoka got a brace for Nkumba before referee Ali Mwebe called for the first half recess immediately danger man Brian Nkubi, who is also the league’s top scorer netted a consolation goal for MUBS.
Shortly after resumption, the danger man settled matters to wrap up his brace. But MUBS' joy was cut short as a Faizo Muwawu strike was then added on by Douglas Muganga's thumping shot to put Nkumba in the lead with 4-2 after second half.
In the third half, Benson Ocen and Brian Nkubi struck home for the hosts to put the icing on the cake.
The 5-4 win for Nkumba puts them in the driving seat of the Hurikken group with 27 points after 10 played games.
