THE Burundi national soccer team, Intamba Mu Rugamba, is expected to arrive in Dar es Salaam today in readiness for the international friendly match against the national team, Taifa Stars, at the National Stadium on Saturday.

Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Media Officer Boniface Wambura told Goal that Intamba Mu Rugamba’s 28-strong squad will land at the Julius Nyerere International Airport this evening by Kenya Airways.

He said the encounter, which is part of the 50th Union anniversary celebrations, will be officiated by a Kenyan referees.

Taifa Stars will miss the services of their three professional players who are plying their trade in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Qatar.

They are striking duo Mbwana Samatta and Thomas Ulimwengu who feature for DRC’s TP Mazembe and midfielder Mwinyi Kazimoto who plays for Al Markhiya of Iraq. 

Wambura said the trio has been reserved for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Samatta, Ulimwengu and Kazimoto are among players called to join Taifa Stars who assembled last weekend at Bahari Beach Hotel to prepare for the friendly match however, the trio will not play against Burundi on Saturday but they will join their colleagues during preparations for AFCON qualifiers.

The AFCON 2015 qualifying draw will take place in Cairo, Egypt on Saturday.
